Lights, Camera, Action!

Writing or production? Big budget filmmaking or micro budget corporate videos?

Thoughtlab Media and their partners have experience with all of the above.

Thoughtlab Director Craig Silliphant wrote and co-produced the nationally-aired Global Television documentary, Stolen Sisters. Directed by Tony Hrynchuk, the film won the Jury Prize at the SMPIA Awards and was hailed by the Globe and Mail as a “Critic’s Choice” documentary.

Silliphant has also written and worked on many music videos for Muchmusic and some of the biggest Canadian artists on CMT. From the conception and treatment stage to working or rewriting on set, the film world is one that the good folks at Thoughtlab Media love to work and play in. Thoughtlab writing and the hard work of Fahrenheit Film’s Tony Hrynchuk have garnered many awards, including CMT 10 Best Music Videos of 2002 for Brad Johner’s Hello and Best Music Video at the 2006 Canadian Aboriginal People’s Choice Awards for Shane Yellowbird’s Beautiful Concept. It was indeed a beautiful concept (sorry…couldn’t resist).

Thoughtlab Media has also consulted on many projects, providing practical advice and writing treatments for everything from music videos to pitches for television shows. Silliphant’s concept Animals with Analysts (Fahrenheit Films) won the New Player’s Pitch Award at the Banff Film & Television Festival in 2006.

Whether it’s for television or the web, whether it’s scripted comedy or serious drama, Thoughtlab Media can write your scripts, treatments and one sheets, or communication materials. Through their partners, they can also offer all manner of video production and pre
and post-production services. They’re cool like that.
